1. Elementary teachers want to teach STEM.
They know it's important for students to be exposed to STEM early.
2. Students begin career considerations during elementary school.
Students self-identify as 'good at math' or 'good at reading' as early as third grade. This means they also begin to identify their areas of weakness and eliminate career options.
3. Integrative STEM curriculum can expose students to important 21st century skills.
Important 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication are not innate in standard curriculum.
